Why can’t I unlock a Crime Simulator skill?
You need both a skill point (from leveling) and the matching Skill Leaflet. Tiers require the previous rank. Spend them on the truck computer.
Crime Simulator skills are a two-key lock: a skill point from leveling, plus the matching Skill Leaflet. The Steam store lists 15+ skills; community trees count more nodes because tiers (Agility 1–3, Stacking 1–3) each eat a point. Check the computer in your truck. This page is Steam Crime Simulator by CookieDev, not Roblox. Verified October 29, 2026 · Steam.
Site brand Criminal Simulator uses the same tree. If a leaflet name is not on the truck computer, it is not unlocked — ignore script menus that pretend otherwise.
| Fact | Detail |
|---|---|
| Platform | Steam (Windows) · Xbox listing |
| Official count | 15+ skills on the Steam store page |
| Unlock | Skill point AND matching Skill Leaflet |
| UI | Computer in the truck |
| Tiers | Must buy rank N before N+1 |
| Leaflets | Houses, drawers, safes, special boxes, Truck Store |
| Kept on Standard death | Spent skills, leftover points, hideout |
| Disambiguation | Steam Crime Simulator · not Roblox |
The truck computer will refuse a row if either key is missing. Leveling from jobs and assignments grants the point. The Skill Leaflet is a world item with the skill’s name on it. You spend both at once. That is the whole Crime Simulator skills gate — there is no separate trainer, no Roblox-style codes tab, and no class select. Criminal Simulator still uses this pair even when the HUD says Crime Simulator.

| You have | Computer says | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Point, no leaflet | Row stays locked | Loot drawers or buy a Truck Store leaflet box |
| Leaflet, no point | Cannot spend | Run jobs until you level |
| Agility 2 leaflet, no Agility 1 | Tier blocked | Spend Agility 1 first |
| Wrong leaflet | Different row highlights | Hold the named page for that skill |
| Point already spent | Need another level | Do not expect one point to fill the tree |
Skills live on the computer in the truck, not on a pause-menu talent web and not in the hideout voucher machine. Vouchers are abilities; leaflets are skills. If you are standing at the voucher cabinet looking for lockpicking, you are in the wrong UI.
Points come from levels. Reader is a mid-run pickup once duplicate leaflets appear, not a first spend. Until then, clean extracts and job turn-ins are the only throttle.
If the computer is willing but you still have no page in the bag, the next section is the farm.
Skill Leaflets drop inside jobs: houses, drawers, shelves, containers, tabletops, hiding spots, safes, and special boxes. The Truck Store also sells leaflet boxes — recaps call them a random roll; shop dollars stay Unverified. Exact room IDs stay TBA per map; hunt container types, not a mythical guaranteed tile.
| Place | What to expect | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Dressers / nightstands | Highest residential hit rate (community) | Check every bedroom |
| Kitchen drawers / counters | Secondary residential | Fast to sweep |
| Tool boxes / garage shelves | Often named for Advanced Lockpicking | Community recap, not a hard spawn table |
| Safes / special boxes | Random leaflet chance | Worth a lockpick detour |
| Truck Store leaflet box | Random page, cash cost | Use when a specific tier will not drop |
| High-tech / DLC interiors | Later-tree pages more likely (Unverified) | Do not farm ARC on quota 1 for this |
Players stuck on Stacking 2 or Advanced Electronics report that raising difficulty did not magically print the missing page. Keep looting Crime Simulator houses, then buy boxes from the truck when a single rank is blocking the next door type. Criminal Simulator searchers looking for Roblox scripts will not find those boxes — they are Steam Truck Store rows.
Third-party roundups add pages such as Jewelry Appraisal or Stealth Ops. Treat those as Unverified until the truck computer shows the row. This Crime Simulator skills guide tables the Steam community Skill Leaflets set (lockpicking, electronics, agility, strongman, perception, backpacker, reader, stacking).
You can find pages all day and still waste them. Spend order is the next lock.
Do not open Master Lockpicking because the name sounds finished. Early Crime Simulator jobs are basic mechanical locks and a bag that fills too fast. Buy the door, then buy the slot, then buy information.

| Order | Skill | Why it pays on quota 1–2 |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Basic Lockpicking | Lockpick Set actually opens starter doors |
| 2 | Backpacker or Strongman 1 | One more slot; Strongman 1 also lifts heavy loot (piano / scooter recap) |
| 3 | Perception 1 | NPC range, highlight time, routines — fewer surprise hour-ticks |
| 4 | Basic Electronics | When the next house is a keypad, not before |
| 5 | Reader | When you start finding duplicates you would otherwise burn |
| 6 | Advanced Lockpicking / Electronics | Bobby pin houses and shutter/keypad labs |
Both add a slot. Strongman 1 also raises throw force, melee damage, and the weight cap — community slot guides say it is required for some oversized loot. Strongman 2 is another slot; there is no Strongman 3. Backpacker is the cheap extra pocket if you already lift what you steal. Hideout bench-press furniture can add yet another slot later — that is not a leaflet.
Agility 1 is fine if vines or fences block a quiet route you already scouted. It is not a substitute for lockpicking. Stacking waits until you actually leave duplicate small items on the floor.
Voucher abilities on the hideout machine are not Crime Simulator skills. Cancelling a police chase or repairing loot is a voucher spend, and it does not replace Basic Electronics on a keypad wall. Keep the two UIs separate or you will think the tree is broken.
Once the first four spends are in, you need the actual effect list so you stop guessing from icons that are not on this page.

Text table only — no fake icons. Effects below follow the Steam community Skill Leaflets guide. Confirm wording on your truck computer after patches. Official store copy remains “15+ skills”; extra third-party names stay off this grid until they appear in-game.

| Skill | What it unlocks | Need |
|---|---|---|
| Basic Lockpicking | Basic mechanical locks with a Lockpick Set | Point + leaflet |
| Advanced Lockpicking | Advanced locks with a bobby pin | Basic Lockpicking first |
| Master Lockpicking | Highest mechanical locks | Advanced first; late / high-tech |
| Basic Electronics | Simple keypads and security panels; unlocks hacking tools | Point + leaflet |
| Advanced Electronics | Harder keypads, devices, shutters; exact pick odds Unverified | Basic Electronics first |
| Agility 1 | Movement: run / crouch / some fence routes (confirm tooltip) | Point + leaflet |
| Agility 2 | Further movement / stamina / quiet opening (confirm tooltip) | Agility 1 |
| Agility 3 | Higher fences and more movement (confirm tooltip) | Agility 2 |
| Backpacker | Extra inventory slot (community leaflet table — confirm HUD) | Point + leaflet |
| Strongman 1 | Carry / throw / melee (community table — confirm HUD) | Point + leaflet |
| Strongman 2 | More carry / throw / melee (confirm HUD) | Strongman 1 |
| Perception 1 | NPC range, highlight time, routines (confirm HUD meters) | Point + leaflet |
| Perception 2 | More NPC detection (confirm HUD) | Perception 1 |
| Perception 3 | Cameras, alarms, loot values, NPC range (confirm HUD) | Perception 2 |
| Reader | Keep spent leaflets; XP bonus Unverified until tooltip | Point + leaflet |
| Stacking 1 | Higher max stacks of the same item (confirm HUD) | Point + leaflet |
| Stacking 2 | More stacks (confirm HUD) | Stacking 1 |
| Stacking 3 | More stacks / more stackable types (confirm HUD) | Stacking 2 |
Basic Lockpicking without a Lockpick Set is a locked row in your hands. Advanced Lockpicking wants bobby pins. Electronics wants the hacking tools the Basic rank unlocks, then Remote Hack on later jobs. Pair Crime Simulator skills with tools instead of buying a bat for every door.
Stacking 1–3 only matters when you leave duplicate phones, bars, or loot piles on the floor because one slot is already full. It does not open a lock. If your Crime Simulator problem is doors, spend lockpicking. If your problem is three identical watches, then Stacking is the leaflet worth hunting in dressers.
Community recaps show Perception letting you tab into NPC next-action timers — “magazines” in one playthrough. Even before that rank, NPCs still move on the hour. Perception 3 also paints camera and alarm info, which is when keypad houses stop feeling random.
Reader is the one node people spend too late, or too early. That gets its own heading.
Reader keeps the Skill Leaflet after you spend it. Recaps also mention an XP bonus — confirm the live tooltip; this page will not invent a percent. Take it once duplicate pages start appearing, or once Truck Store boxes keep reprinting ranks you already own. Taking Reader with your first two Crime Simulator skills points delays lockpicking and carry — that is a slower first quota, not a smarter Criminal Simulator tree.
If every dresser still prints Basic Lockpicking while you already have it, Reader turns trash into banked pages for co-op partners or a later prestige. If you have not seen a duplicate yet, another door skill is the better click.
Solo or online co-op up to 4. Leaflets are inventory items until spent. Reader is how a four-player truck stops fighting over one Advanced Electronics page. Without Reader, assign who loots bedrooms so two people do not eat the same rank.
Spent ranks are the one part of Crime Simulator skills that Standard death does not touch.
In Standard, yes: unlocked skills, leftover points, and hideout furniture stay. Equipped tools and unsold truck loot do not. A leaflet still sitting in a dead body bag is loot — extract it or lose it. Hardcore quota fails can wipe a larger slice of growth; do not test that to “refund” a bad spend.
| Thing | Standard death | Standard quota fail |
|---|---|---|
| Spent skills | Kept | Usually kept (mode recap) |
| Unspent points | Kept | Confirm HUD — do not assume Hardcore rules |
| Leaflet in inventory | Lost with the bag / truck | Lost with the run if it was not stored |
| Hideout furniture | Kept | Kept |
| Tools | Dropped if equipped | Run tools reset with the job |
A Skill Leaflet in the truck is a tool-shaped item until you click it on the computer. If you are about to push a noisy Crime Simulator house, spend Basic Lockpicking before you leave, not after the cops empty the cab. Unspent paper is the one Crime Simulator skills loss Standard death can still inflict.
Match ranks to kit on tools, then use the starter framework on the tier list. First-hour extract rules stay on the Crime Simulator beginner guide. Hideout slots that are not leaflets: hideout.
You need both a skill point (from leveling) and the matching Skill Leaflet. Tiers require the previous rank. Spend them on the truck computer.
Houses, drawers, safes, special boxes, and the Truck Store. Dressers are the usual residential check. Exact tiles stay TBA.
Basic Lockpicking, then Backpacker or Strongman 1. Electronics when you see keypads. Reader when duplicates show up.
Recaps say Reader keeps the leaflet after you spend it. Any XP bonus is Unverified until the tooltip says so.
Community slot guides stop Strongman at 2. Extra slots can come from Backpacker and hideout furniture. Confirm the live truck computer.
No. Steam Crime Simulator by CookieDev. Roblox trees and scripts do not apply.
Not in Standard. Tools and truck loot do. Hardcore quota fails can wipe more — see game modes.
Steam says 15+. This table lists the Skill Leaflets guide nodes, including tiers. Extra third-party names stay Unverified until they appear on the truck computer.
